Install Guide

A pre populated pocket colour board - all you need to add is a Game Boy Color CPU and RAM!

The Poco Plus with all my mods on the one board. Safer charge, RGB leds and stereo sound.

Things included:

  • LiPo battery
  • Clear button pads
  • Cart slot (un-soldered so you have more space to solder the CPU on first)
  • USB C and stereo speaker cutting jig

To complete this build you will need to purchase:

  • Game Boy Color CPU and RAM - NOT CPU E
  • Game Boy Pocket shell, buttons (I recommend Funny Playing as it is pre cut for the screen)
  • Game Boy Color screen (Q5 IPS OSD display NOT laminated)
  • Two Game Boy Pocket/Color speakers

Shipping battery safety information:

Battery safety test

UN3481 – Lithium Ion Batteries Contained in Equipment. The battery is contained in it's housing protected by the outer shell or structure of the device and cannot move freely within the packaging.

Amazing product at an amazing price

I have bought a few products from Natalie in the past and all have been well made and well priced. This however in my opinion is just an a rediculously amazing deal. It adds so many features over a traditional pocket color with old oem cut color board/parts. You gain a lipo battery, true lipo support /modern power handling /charging, stereo speakers, all new components, a toggle wheel to control screen modes (replaces the pocket oem contrast wheel which, the color doesnt use), leds, etc.

Besides the physical product, the build experience is not for the faint of heart/someone new to soldering… that being said, i had never soldered any surface mount components before this project, and i honestly didn’t have too difficult an experience with it. If you do research, watch vids, go slowly and take your time its pretty straightforward. I had a blast building mine and i will def build more in the future.
