Pocket Color Plus (Poco Plus) Guide


What's included

What you will need to purchase

  • Game Boy Color CPU (CGB) and RAM.
    NOT CPU E, THIS I WILL NOT WORK
  • GBC Q5 IPS OSD display
  • Two Game Boy speakers (I recommend Funny Playing)
  • Game Boy Pocket shell, buttons and lens (I recommend Funny Playing)

Controlling the LEDs

Hold down [START] [A] and [B] until the leds blink

  • [START] changes the colour of start and select
  • [UP] changes the colour of the dpad
  • [A] changes the colour of A and B
  • [B] changes the brightness

After 3 seconds of no activity, the settings will save.

Status LEDs

Green is ON, good battery level.
Red indicates that the battery has roughly 30 minutes of play left
Orange indicates charging. Once finished charging this light will turn off

Troubleshooting

Most issues will come down to loose CPU or RAM pins. This includes distorted colours on the screen, buttons not working and sound either not working or only working intimidatingly on boot.

Rebooting the device is a quick fix for the audio.
